Kevin Smith just can't make a movie that will gross over $11 million on its opening weekend, no matter what he tries. His latest laffer Zack and Miri Make a Porno grossed an estimated $10.6 million, behind the second week haulage of High School Musical 3, which held onto the top stop with just over $15 million. Miri marks the lowest opening for a Seth Rogen starrer, and is seen as a massive surprise as most pundits expected it to bow well into the over 20's. Reviews have been mainly positive though, so it could still show legs over the coming weeks. Also, box office was extremely low on Friday as Halloween was keeping folk away from theatres; Miri actually climbed an impressive 124% from Friday to Saturday - a very promising sign. Elsewhere Clint Eastwood's Changeling starring Angelina Jolie did solid business on a lower number of screens, coining just under $10 million, while horror film The Haunting of Molly Hartley carved up a distinctly average $6 million.
