Although it might not have Guillermo Del Toro's unique visual flair or Ron Perlman's presence, the reboot for Hellboy looks like it's shaping up pretty nicely.

Stranger Things breakout David Harbour is cranking away in the gym to get into shape, Ian McShane is locked in to play John Hurt's role in the original, and now it's been confirmed by Deadline that Milla Jovovich is set to play the titular Blood Queen.

Details are light on the plot, but the storyline is one that forms a major part of the Hellboy comics. Jovovich, as people will know, is no stranger to sci-fi, action, horror or combinations of all three - so she's the perfect choice for the role.

There's no word yet on when precisely Hellboy: Rise Of The Blood Queen will hit screens, but it's understood that director Neil Marshall is now ramping up production having finished his work on the pilot episode of Netflix's reboot of Lost In Space.
