Miley Cyrus has just gotten some new parents, as Greg Kinnear and Kelly Preston sign up for her Nicholas Sparks adaptation The Last Song, to play her Momma and Poppa - this time sans the mullet. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the story centres on a rebellious teenager who is forced to spend the summer with the father who left her years earlier; giving her time to maybe start writing songs about abandonment and whatnot in the meantime. TV regular Julie Anne Robinson is directing the film, which has already begun shooting. Sounds like a break from the norm for Cyrus, as she attempts that awkward transition from tween idol to movie star
