It wouldn’t be a week in the world of movie news if Michael Fassbender wasn't linked with a role in some new huge production or other. Now, he's being mooted to reteam with his Prometheus director, Ridley Scott for the Cormac McCarthy penned flick, The Counselor, reports Deadline.com.

The story is being described as "No Country for Old Men on steroids," which sounds a bit silly, but I'm sure if McCarthy or Scott would describe it like that. The story centres on a lawyer who attempts to dip his toes in the drug smuggling business, but ends up getting way in over his head. There were apparently a bunch of A-list directors circling the project, but Scott has gotten priority because he's looking to make it his next film.

Fassbender is about to work with his Shame and Hunger director Steve McQueen and Brad Pitt on the drama, Twelve Years a Slave. So it may just depend on how he can work his increasingly busy schedule.
