Charlie's Angels and Terminator: Salvation director McG has signed on to develop and produce a remake of the classic Disney feature 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, which was the first ever live-action film that the Mouse House produced. The film was a huge hit upon its initial release in 1954, as Walt Disney put his entire studio on the line to fund the film, and ultimately saw it pay huge dividends. The remake is at the very early stages, but the trades are reporting that McG will earn a staggering $8 million plus 7 percent of the gross, which is a huge deal for a guy with one hit film from three released. Disney is hoping to get cameras rolling on the film this year, freeing up McG to direct another Terminator sequel if 'Salvation' is a success. All they need now is a script...
