Matt Damon has been spewing about the possibility of returning to what is undoubtedly his signature role as Jason Bourne, telling CNBC that he'd be open to it.

Damon has previously said that he'd only come back if director Paul Greengrass did too; also mentioning that it might be difficult for his character to make a return given the new universe being populated with Jeremy Renner's mush.

But recently he spewed, "I've always been open to it if Paul Greengrass is the director and... we've just never been able to come up with a story. It felt like such a good way to end it the last time, but having said that I love that character... and I'd love to see what happened to him."

Fast and Furious 3-6 director Justin Lin is attached to direct the new Renner sequel scheduled to begin in August, but The Bourne Legacy wasn't a patch on any of the 3 Damon flicks. We'd love to him him make a return.
