The very lovely Mary Elizabeth Winstead has signed on to star in the much mooted remake of the John Carpenter classic sci-fi flick, The Thing.
According to Heat Vision Blog, by way of Empire, Winstead will play a PhD candidate who travels with a Norwegian scientific team to Antarctica where an alien ship is found frozen in the ice. Australian actor Joel Edgerton has also joined the project as a helicopter pilot.
First time director Matthijs Van Heijningen is calling the shots, from a script initially by Battlestar Galactica’s Ron Moore, then a rewrite from Eric Heisserer.
