Kenneth Branagh and Marvel have reportedly found the man to portray comic book God, Thor. In a somewhat random choice, the iconic hammer-wielder will be played by none other than Captain Kirk's Dad, Chris Hemsworth, who some of you soap watchers may also have recognised from Aussie serial, Home and Away. According to Variety, Hemsworth is in advanced negotiations for the role, which generally means that red tape surrounding scheduling and such is just being sorted out. I thought he looked really like Chris Pine in 'Trek' so that's why he was cast, but evidently this man has enough charisma and presence to hold the screen himself. He'll next be seen in the Josh Whedon produced horror film The Cabin In The Woods. Thor starts shooting in the autumn.
