Looky here; for those of you who eat, sleep, live and breathe superhero stuff, especially those among you who still sleep with a Spiderman bedspread (it's OK, we don't judge), we've got a nice little DC Comic update for you. Man of Steel's sequel is rumoured to arrive in 2014, and is said to be followed the following year by the hotly anticipated Justice League film. Haven't heard of it? Why of course you have, it's DC's answer to Marvel's The Avengers which brings together all the weapon-toting, super-power exercising legends from that universe to combat some form of seemingly insurmountable evil.
Man of Steel's sequel is rumoured to arrive earlier than expected which movie folk are attributing to the fact that it raked in such a massive amount of Dollar bills over its opening weekend.
As per the Wall Street Journal, the movie took in $125.1 million in the US over the weekend, including $12 million from Thursday evening shows, making it the second-biggest debut of the year behind Marvel's "Iron Man 3." Then you have to combine that with $74.1 million made from 24 overseas markets (among which our little Emerald Isle is included).
So you can understand why they're keen to cash in on the momentum experienced by the likes of rival franchise, Iron Man.
"It's more than just a franchise for us, it really opens up the door to do combinations of the DC Comics characters," said Dan Fellman, Warner's president of domestic distribution. "We can build them up like Marvel did and benefit from the history of DC." What's more, 'knowledgeable people' involved with the studio believe the production will be fast-tracked for a 2014 release.

And with regard to the Justice League, there's only one thing we really want to know right now; will Joseph Gordon Levitt step into Batman's suit? Will he be able to bulk up in the same way that Henry Cavill has for Man of Steel? Now that's one pissing contest we would not want to get in the way of.
