You didn't ask for it, and you probably don’t want it, but a big screen version of 80s series MacGyver is coming. No director has been set, and the script has yet to be penned; but studio New Line are thought to be extremely keen to bring the mullet-headed action hero to a cinema near you. The original series centred around an endlessly resourceful secret agent, who could build practical and effective weaponry, with often just some elastic bands, and a hairclip. I actually can't really remember the programme, truth be told, as I was probably busy watching the A-Team or something. Still, a good director becomes attached, and it bags a decent star, and this could quickly turn into a must see.
