The name of the next movie from M. Night Shyamalan has been announced. Moreover it has officially begun production.

M. Night Shyamalan himself made the announcement on Twitter, revealing a poster for the upcoming film also.

The writer-director known for such titles as 'The Sixth Sense', 'Signs', 'The Village' and 'Split', said his next project is titled 'Old'.

He wrote: "Feels like a miracle that I am standing here shooting the first shot of my new film. It's called 'Old.'"

He shared an image of the shoot, which is taking place in the Dominican Republic, as he stands wearing a face mask and holding a clapper board.

The poster unveils the movie's tagline, which is: “It’s only a matter of time”.

It features a great cast that includes Gael García Bernal, Eliza Scanlen ('Little Women'), Thomasin McKenzie ('Jojo Rabbit'), Alex Wolff ('Hereditary'), and Vicky Krieps ('Phantom Thread').

Other cast members include Nikki Amuka-Bird, Ken Leung, Abbey Lee, Rufus Sewell, Embeth Davidtz, Aaron Pierre, and Emun Elliott.

'Old' is said to be based on the Pierre Oscar Lévy and Frederik Peeters graphic novel 'Sandcastle'.

It is a horror set on a beach where over a dozen people are trapped as they mysteriously, rapidly age.

Sounds pretty much exactly like M. Night Shyamalan territory.

'Old' has a pencilled in release date of July 23, 2021.
