We're all quite annoyed by the fact that Middle-Earth isn't a real place.

After all, who wouldn't want to hang out in The Shire and get wasted with the Hobbits? Or better yet, you could head off for a spa weekend in Rivendell with the Elves? Or if you were feeling really adventurous, you can take a jaunt to Mordor and experience all the volcanoes and rampaging Nazgul Wraiths?

Minas Tirith, however, might soon be a reality. A group of dedicated LOTR fans in England are attempting to crowd-fund a lifesize Minas Tirith, home to the Kings of Gondor and the White Tree. It won't be cheap, however.

The IndieGoGo campaign is looking for £1,850,000,000 - that's 1.85 BILLION - to get the job done. They're not doing too badly, in fairness. The campaign's been running for 17 days and they've already raised £80,000 so far. As with most crowdfunding campaigns, there's rewards on offer for what you contribute.

The top tier, we think, is pretty impressive. For £100,000, you will be named as a Lord / Lady of Gondor, given exclusive access of the entire city, priority access to purchase property in the city, the permits to use horse-drawn carriages and a seat on the city's Executive Committee. If that's a little too much, for £500, you can bag yourself an all-inclusive night in Minas Tirith at any of the lodgings on offer. We're guessing tankards of ale are provided in the offer, too.

The campaign has 43 days left to raise an additional $1,999,999,920,000. They could possibly hit up Smaug the Dragon for a lend. He's got a few bob stashed away.

If you want to contribute to realising the glory of Minas Tirith, follow the link right hurr.
