Disney's trend of turning its animated library into live-action (or at least, heavily CGI'd) movies continues apace with 'The Lion King'.
What's been interesting to note so far about a lot of these is not just how they're influenced by them, but in a lot of cases, they're straight lifting them from the source material. There were a few moments in 'Beauty and the Beast' that were cogged from the original, but 'The Lion King' appears so far to be on another level.
This side-by-side video shows just how much of the original is in the remake, but also highlights the difference in tone. The bold colours of the original are gone, there's none of the warmth, and it all looks just a little bit tatty and flat.
Take a look.
