Talented Cloverfield and Let Me In director Matt Reeves is to helm an adaptation of Kenneth Oppel's upcoming novel This Dark Endeavor: The Apprenticeship of Victor Frankenstein.
According to Deadline, In the film Victor Frankenstein's twin brother, Konrad, falls gravely ill, leading Victor to seek out a mysterious old alchemist to help him produce the Elixir of Life, a fabled serum that will bestow the drinker with perpetual health. Victor sets out on a quest for the three ingredients needed to save his siblings life.
Reeves did a brilliant job with both his last two films, but the tone of Let Me In was perfect, and fits the world of Frankenstein perfectly. Danny Boyle recently directed a hugely successful stage version of the classic tale.
