We've been eagerly awaiting the follow-up to John Wick, primarily because the first one was just SO good and that most of the creative team are back for the sequel.

When we spoke to Keanu Reeves way back when, he was quite open to the idea of a sequel and explained that it was more about opening the underworld, bringing in new characters and expanding on just about everything from the first. It looks like that's happened as set photos from Brooklyn confirm that Laurence Fishburne and Peter Stromare are on the set, doing this and that.

What's more, Reeves has confirmed Laurence Fishburne's character and gave a few tidbits of information on 'ol Morpheus. He's not called Morpheus in the film, by the way. "Laurence has this fantastic role as a character in the Underworld called The Bowery King. He plays such a great character in the piece and he brings of course humor, intelligence, charisma and fascination – he’s such an incredible actor and it was a pleasure to work with him again."

Peter Stromare, meanwhile, will have more of a cameo according to Keanu Reeves, however it's still not clear whether Fishburne and Stromare are antagonists in the film or what. John Wick: Chapter Two is headed for US cinemas on February 10th, 2017 with the hope that we won't have the same wait between release dates in Ireland as we did for the first John Wick.
