After the suprise success of 'The Big Sick', Kumail Nanjiani is reteaming with director Michael Showalter for another romantic comedy - this time adding Issa Rae to the mixture.

'The Lovebirds' sees a couple on the brink of a breakup caught up in a bizarre murder-mystery that sees them trying to clear their name and trying to mend their relationship in the process. As well as starring in 'The Big Sick', Nanjiani wrote the screenplay for it with his wife, Emily V. Gordon, and earned an Oscar nomination for Best Original Screenplay.

Issa Rae, meanwhile, is the writer, co-creator and executive producer of HBO's 'Insecure' and recently turned up in 'The Hate U Give' and most recently had a voice role on Netflix's 'Bojack Horseman'.

No release date has been confirmed for 'The Lovebirds' as of yet.
