Kristen Stewart has struck while Twilight success is still hot with a high profile role in the action heavy Snow White and the Huntsman, opposite Chris Hemsworth and Charlize Theron. With the last film in the series, Breaking Dawn: Part 2, due for release next summer, she may be lining up another huge part.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Stewart has been offered the lead female role of Ky Reed in the live action version of Akira. Already cast in the film is Tron: Legacy star Garrett Hedlund, who will play Kaneda - the leader of a bike gang. Jaume Collet-Serra is directing the flick, while the possible Stewart role was linked to Keira Knightley before this news broke.

Stewart is considering the offer, and if she accepts, could possibly have the illusive "duel franchises" ala Robert Downey Jr. with Sherlock Holmes/Iron Man. Obviously Snow White and Akira would need to make solid coin first...
