Dependent on your age, Charlie's Angels either involved Farrah Fawcett or Cameron Diaz - but for a whole new generation, it may involve Kristen Stewart.

Variety reports that the star of teen-vampire saga Twilight (remember that?) is now being actively pursued for a new reboot of the glossy '70s TV series. Stewart, should she come through and star, will be joined by The Force Awakens' Lupita Nyon'go whilst Elizabeth Banks will direct.

As mentioned, Charlie's Angels originally began a series in 1976 and was successfully rebooted in 2000 with Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore and Lucy Liu as the eponymous angels. Stewart is definitely an unlikely choice for the role, as almost all of her roles post-Twilight have been in arthouse dramas and indie fare. Lupita Nyong'o, meanwhile, has balanced franchise films like the aforementioned Star Wars with prestige dramas like 12 Years A Slave and Queen Of Katwe.

Elizabeth Banks is an interesting choice to direct also, considering that her last two films were comedies Pitch Perfect 2 and a segment in Movie 43.

Charlie's Angels is slated for a summer 2019 release.
