Kevin Williamson has been speaking to The New York Post about a whole new trilogy in the Scream franchise. The writer has already penned the script, and told the paper: Scary Movie spoofed these films, so one of the things I'm excited about with Scream 4 is that, while we do send up the genre, we make it incredibly scary. That's first and foremost." Given the many shifts in the horror climate since Scream 3 hit, there is certainly plenty of fodder there for the writer to play with. When quizzed on just how Neve Campbell would fit into the series (i.e. is she killed) he spewed: "There are a lot of moving pieces, so we'll see, but if you're a Scream fan, I think you're really going to like it." Wes Craven still hasn’t been confirmed to be returning, but if he does indeed confirm, I'll start getting excited. Williamson is currently the show-runner on The Vampire Diaries, which has been one of the biggest new shows of the season.
