British director Kenneth Branagh has lined up his second successive high profile directing gig.

Branagh will replace Lost shooter Jack Bender on the perpetually stalling new Tom Clancy adaptation starring Chris Pine, reports Variety. The Star Trek actor has been attached to play Jack Ryan for some time, and the possible franchise has long been a priority for funding studio Paramount who quickly moved to replace Bender. Branagh just directed the box-office smash Thor for the same studio and Marvel, which was a nice reminder to Hollywood about his ability as a helmer.

Pine is coming off of a flop in This Means War, but needn’t worry as he's currently shooting the sure to be huge Star Trek 2.
