Justin Timberlake is a rare breed of individual in that he's enjoyed a great amount of success both as a musician/performer and as an actor. Usually they stick to one or the other, or usually they're far better at one than the other. Granted, many of you will agree that he's probably more accomplished as an artist than an actor, but the movie offers keep rolling in for Timberlake at about the same rate that the women of the world's knickers get thrown on his stage; he's doing something right.

Not content with the slate of movies he's already been attached to, now Timberlake wants to play a villain. But not just any villain, he fancies himself a good fit for The Riddler opposite Batman, a character that was last envisioned by Jim Carrey.

Does this mean we'd seem him go head to head with Ben Affleck again? (Their first project being the forthcoming Runner Runner).

When asked if he'd fancy playing Robin to Affleck's Batman, Timberlake said to Fresh 102.7:

"Not a chance in hell. I ain't playing Robin. I have no aspiration to ever be a superhero in a movie... Now, a villain! I'll tell you the villain I want to play more than anything because I grew up loving Batman, funnily enough, is The Riddler. The Riddler is my favourite villain... The Riddler was like a sociopath. He was proper crazy. So if I'm gonna play crazy, I'm wanna play proper crazy."

He also shared his enthusiasm for his co-star's casting as one of the most prolific characters in popular culture: "Ben Affleck as Batman, I like it... I worked with Ben last summer and I've seen his process. I think he's a brilliant filmmaker. I think he's an extreme talent so he could surprise a lot of people."

So Justin Timberlake as a villain in a superhero world. Thoughts?
