Johnny Depp may find himself with a lot more time on his hands than usual, as the various projects he had lined up seem to have stalled somewhat. The charismatic actor is currently starring in the brilliant/excellent/you have to see it Michael Mann epic, Public Enemies, with Christian Bale; but had The Lone Ranger, Pirates of the Caribbean 4 and a few other stragglers set to happen, with Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland already wrapped and awaiting release. But Pirates is stalling with the hunt for a new director, and there has been little word on the proposed Lone Ranger movie, since the movie only has a supporting star in Depp, and no helmer or lead. The Hollywood Reporter reckon that Depp could be off our screens for as long as 18 months, which would stall the staggering career momentum he has gained himself since the Pirates Oscar nomination. Still, no Pirates 4 is probably a good thing until they can find a good action director to take the franchise over.Â
