Legendary film director John Carpenter has signed on to direct a film adaptation of the comic Darkchylde, according to Collider.com.
The Halloween and The Thing director is currently doing the rounds with his horror thriller, The Ward, hoping to pick up distribution, and is now actively developing this film, about a young woman who turns into the monsters from her nightmares, and acts out her every gruesome impulse.
The comic apparently has a huge cult following, and Carpenter is extremely passionate about bringing the character to life.
