As production gears up for the long-awaited Blade Runner sequel, little tidbits of information are starting to leak out.

We already know that most of the headline cast have been selected, the latest addition being (ugh) Jared Leto. However, a report surfaced online from Iceland Monitor that gives us another piece of insight into the film. It's been confirmed that Johan Johansson will be in charge of scoring duties for the film.

Vangelis' synth-driven soundtrack for the first Blade Runner has been widely hailed as one of the great film scores ever made, so Johansson's got a LOT to live up to. Johansson's already done scoring for director Denis Villeneuve in the past, having worked with him on Sicario and Prisoners. Outside of this, Johansson received an Oscar nomination for his work on The Theory of Everything and the aforementioned Sicario.

Here's a quick taste of his work on Sicario.
