Jim Sheridan is reportedly working on a feature script, to direct himself, on the 1988 Pan Am terrorist bombing over Lockerbie, Scotland.

According to IFTN, Sheridan is working on the script with screenwriter Audrey O’Reilly. The film will centre on Jim Swire, who lost his daughter when the plane exploded over the Scottish village. He believes that Abdelbaset al-Megrahi, the man who was convicted for the bombing and released a couple of years ago, isn’t the man responsible

It sounds like a fascinating story, and it seems that Sheridan is passionate about the subject matter.

While he’s made a couple of awful films recently (Dream House, Get Rich or Die Tryin’), Sheridan is an extremely talented filmmaker with an often unrivalled grasp on character - especially real life characters. See My Left Foot and In the Name of the Father.

We’re looking forward to this...
