Jesse Plemons has signed on to play the lead role of the next movie from Martin Scorsese, titled 'Killers of the Flower Moon.' The cast stars regulars to Scorsese's films, Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro.

Jesse Plemons previously worked with Scorsese on 'The Irishman'.

He is also known for starring in season 2 of 'Fargo', 'Breaking Bad', and 'Friday Night Lights'.

Recent credits include 'Judas and the Black Messiah' and 'I'm Thinking of Ending Things' with Jessie Buckley.

Plemons will play Tom White in 'Killers of the Flower Moon'.

The role was originally meant to be played by DiCaprio, who still stars in the film, but in a secondary role instead.

'Killers of the Flower Moon' centres around the Osage Nation murders.

The historical event occurred between the 1910s and '30s when sixty or more wealthy, full-blood Osage Native Americans were killed.

The FBI took up the case and unravelled a major conspiracy.

Tom White is the lead FBI agent investigating the murders.

Plemons had to turn down a lead role in the next film from Jordan Peele due to scheduling conflicts with Scorsese's movie.

The film will commence shooting in May and continue production through late summer.

It is headed for Apple TV+.
