Jennifer Lawrence has opened up about her fiancé, Cooke Maroney, for the first time.

The actress was on the red carpet promoting her new film 'X-Men: Dark Phoenix' talking to Entertainment Tonight.

She confirmed her engagement to the art dealer in February this year.

When asked how she knew he was "the one", Lawrence said: "Well, he's just the best person I've ever met in my whole life.

"It was a very, very easy decision."

Lawrence's friend Laura Simpson is said to have introduced the couple to each other.

They were first romantically linked in June 2018, when they were spotted in New York City together. The engaged couple also shared a getaway to Rome last August.

Previously, Lawrence ended a year-long relationship with director Darren Aronofsky, who she worked with on 'Mother!', in late 2017. She also dated her 'X-Men' co-star Nicholas Hoult.

The Academy award winning actress typically doesn't discuss her dating life in interviews.
