Oscar winning Spanish Latin sort, Javier Bardem, has just been confirmed as the villain in the 23rd James Bond movie.

He told US TV station ABC, "I am very excited. My parents took me to watch the movies, and I saw all of them, so to play that is going to be fun. They chose me to play this man, but I cannot give you many details." The director, Sam Mendes, must really be the attraction for Bardem - either that or a huge payday. I like the Bond flicks as much as the next guy, but they've hardly been stellar career choices for past Oscar winners *coughs* Halle Berry.
