The star of 'Halloween' has been sharing her pride of the amount of people who turned out to see the sequel over it's opening weekend.

Jamie Lee Curtis can't contain her excitement - 'Halloween' has been a tearaway success. Over the weekend, the movie saw a huge number of people flocking to see the slasher, with American audiences sending the domestic box office over $77.5 million. With the budget on production of the film only being $10 million, it almost certainly will break ten times the production budget very soon. No word on international box office yet, but we guarantee the figures will only keep rising.

Curtis took to Twitter to share with fans what milestones the current sequel to John Carpenter's original is producing, including the biggest horror movie opening with a female lead, which is no mean feat. She said "OK. I'm going for one BOAST post. Biggest horror movie opening with a female lead. Biggest movie opening with a female lead over 55. Second biggest October movie opening ever. Biggest 'Halloween' opening ever #womengetthingsdone"

We gave 'Halloween' an impressive four-star review, saying it "is one of the best horror sequels in years", so if you haven't seen it this weekend, we'd definitely recommend it.
