Dornan stars opposite Ben Mendelsohn (whose credits include Bloodline and the upcoming Rogue One) and real-life sisters Jemima Kirke (one of the stars of HBO's Girls) and Lola Kirke (Mozart in the Jungle) in the dramedy Untogether.
Dornan plays a successful writer who has an affair with Jemima Kirke’s character, a former teen prodigy and heroin addict trying to become a writer. Dornan’s character’s success comes from his memoir of wartime survival, which has made him wealthy and attractive to women (his looks probably help too).
Lola Kirke plays Jemima's younger sister, who is dating an older man (Mendelsohn) at the same time as she is drawn to an even older, enigmatic rabbi.
Best-selling author Emma Forest is writing and directing the film, which will be her directorial debut.
Forrest said Untogether is ‘about the desire we all have to be seen, really seen. Sometimes we get lucky and find a partner who fulfils that criteria. Sometimes we get even luckier and meet someone who shows us that who we truly are ... is not what we’d convinced ourselves.’
