Well, you'd have to expect this, right?

After Fifty Shades of Grey became the box-office smash that it was, a sequel was almost a moral certainty. However, with rumblings here and there of unhappiness in the cast and director Sam Taylor-Johnson's exit from the film, it could be a little while before we see Fifty Shades Darker.

It's been reported that Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson are looking for significant raises in their pay-cheque for filming the two sequels to Fifty Shades of Grey. It's understood that Dornan and Johnson received a (by Hollywood standards) paltry $250,000 for filming Fifty Shades of Grey. Tied in with bonuses for box-office takings, it's highly unlikely their salary went over $1,000,000.

However, both Dornan and Johnson are now said to be locked in tense negotiations to have their pay significantly increased for the sequels. This is a standard tactic in franchise deals. For example, Jennifer Lawrence received $500,000 for the first Hunger Games film and then received a whopping $10,000,000 for the latest film.

Fifty Shades was expected to be a breakout role for both of them and put their names on the map, but it's still unlikely that either would be prepared to put themselves through another film without receiving a few extra quid.

After all, they're the ones that have to live with the fact that they're starring in these films.
