James McAvoy has replaced Michael Fassbender in Danny Boyle's 127 Hours follow up, Trance.

The film will be a remake of a 2001 British TV movie directed by Joe Ahearne, which follows an assistant at an auction house who masterminds an art heist with a gang of crooks. Afterwards, he suffers a blow to the head and wakes up with amnesia. The gang then get suspicious that it may all be an act. McAvoy would play the leader of the gang.

Boyle will shoot the film towards the end of this year but not begin editing it until after he's finished with the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics - which he's also directing.
