Tom Cruise kicking ass is nothing new. He's put his money where his mouth is countless times with the likes of the Mission Impossible franchise and Knight and Day. Still though, it will take seeing whether he can deliver with the forthcoming Jack Reacher to fully convince me of his ass-kicking ability. Maybe it's just that he's been smaller than all of his past girlfriends/wives. Either way, this new trailer will probably help. The new teaser is packed to the brim with action.

Tom Cruise is looking to kickstart another action franchise with this one, as he plays an ex-Army Police Major who gets tangled up in the plot of five innocent bystanders who are all shot dead by an expert sniper. When the local police believe they’ve caught the bad guy, Reacher arrives in town to see whether or not they’ve got the right guy, and that’s when things take a turn for the complicated… Based on Lee Child’s phenomenally popular series (this one in particular is based on One Shot, book 9 of 17), with a screenplay by the writer of The Usual Suspects and a killer cast including Rosamund Pike, Robert Duvall, Richard Jenkins and Werner Herzog, this could be that rare action film that has brains to go along with the booms.
