Just a couple of days after the first images from the film were released, the first official trailer for ‘Halloween’, which sees Jamie Lee Curtis return in the role that made her a star, Laurie Strode, has arrived.

As well as Laurie, the villain in that iconic white mask, Michael Myers (also played by the actor who originated the role, Nick Castle), is back, and he’ll have one final confrontation with the woman who escaped his killing spree in Haddonfield four decades ago.

Laurie can be heard saying in the trailer: “I’ve waited for him.”

The reboot ignores all subsequent films after the 1978 original and sees David Gordon Green direct from a script he co-wrote with Danny McBride and Jeff Fradley.

Master of horror John Carpenter will executive produce and serve as creative consultant on this film, joining forces with cinema’s current leading producer of horror, Jason Blum (‘Get Out’, ‘Split’, ‘Paranormal Activity’).

Cast wise, Judy Greer will be playing Strode’s daughter in the film while Andi Matichak (‘Orange Is the New Black’, ‘Underground’) plays her granddaughter. Will Patton, Virginia “Ginny” Gardener, Dylan Arnold, Drew Scheid, and Miles Robbins also star.

The film is set for release in Irish cinemas on October 19th.
