We knew there would be trouble with this one! The proposed sequel to It's a Wonderful Life has hit the skids before it has even begun production as the studio that made the original and who still hold the rights say they will 'take all appropriate steps' to protect them.

A spokesperson for Paramount told The Hollywood Reporter that, 'No project relating to It’s A Wonderful Life can proceed without a license from Paramount.'

"To date, these individuals [Star Partners] have not obtained any of the necessary rights, and we would take all appropriate steps to protect those rights.

It is inevitable that a sequel to the beloved 1946 Christmas film starring James Stewart would have detractors but we say give Zuzu a second chance. The actress who played the little girl, Karolyn Grimes, is really enthusiastic about playing her again and she's old now so she should be able to do what she wants.
