In a rumour yet to be confirmed Billy Bob Thornton may take over one of the most iconic screen villains of all time; as word is rife that the thespian will take the role of Freddy Krueger in the downright sacrilegious remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street. It seems to have come from original Freddy, Robert Englund, who was probed (not anally, we don’t think) on the apparent choice for the Edward Scissorhands gone wrong reboot. "He’s an excellent choice" the cult favourite spewed; before adding "A big budget should mean the film will look a lot better than some of the old movies." No shit, Robbie. Thornton is inspired casting if this proves to be true. But no Wes Craven, then no good me thinks.
