Despite the freezing temperatures, it was a quiet weekend at the Irish box office - people must be saving their money for Star Wars.

Advance previews of Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and Ferdinand both did well. Jumanji, with The Rock and Jack Black, took first place bringing in over €150,000 while Ferdinand, the story of the bull with the big heart, came in fifth with €64,000. They'll get a full cinematic release on the 20th and 16th respectively.

Paddington 2 continues to one of the year's biggest success stories. It has now made just short of €2.5m, a mark it should clearly in the next week. Wonder also did well, dropping just 23% from its opening week takings.

The week's big new release, The Disaster Artist, did well despite a limited release. It made just under €46,000 from 25 locations. None of the other new films made the top 10, although Christmas horror Better Watch Out was the only other relatively wide release.
