Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them has flown straight into first position at the Irish box office top 10 this week.

Cinema event Christmas with André is also noteworthy here – it’s become the highest grossing single day music concert event ever at the UK and Irish box office.

Dreamworks animation Trolls is still going strong in the top 10 (family friendly movies are pretty much guaranteed box office gold – plus there’s finally something else to see besides Finding Dory). Emily Blunt starrer Girl on the Train is clinging in the countdown – it’s made €2,090,923 overall.

Meanwhile Arrival, which was number 1 last week, has dropped down to number 4. Marvel output Doctor Strange, despite a strong opening weekend, continues to descend down the charts.
