The Academy Awards wasn't the only showbiz event in town this past weekend with the Independent Spirit Awards, a celebration of the lesser ambitious, lesser budgeted films, taking place. This year, however, there were quite a few crossovers with its big brother Oscar. Black Swan was the big winner though, taking home the Indie Spirit Awards for Best Feature, Best Director for Darren Aronofsky. The acting gongs went to Oscar host James Franco for 127 Hours and Natalie Portman for, yep, Black Swan. The King's Speech, which was of course the big winner at the Academy Awards, picked up Best Foreign Film. Quite strange that it qualified for that, but it probably technically does.
