We're not often surprised when certain actors team up with certain directors; their respective back catalogues tend to align themselves nicely with one another. Like Michael Mann and Robert DeNiro for example. Yeah, they go well together, don't they? A pairing that we never thought we'd see, however, is Hugh Grant and Guy Ritchie. Not exactly Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrells material, is he?

Though maybe we'll reserve judgement on the Four Weddings and a Funeral actor just yet; he did break formula when he appeared in Cloud Atlas. And we guess Rithcie's moved on somewhat from his geezer movie days. Anyhoo, the news is that the foppish, British actor has just signed on to appear in The Man From U.N.C.L.E alongside Armie Hammer and Henry Cavill.

We're not going to see Grant in any sort of action oriented role though, he'll play the head of British Naval Intelligence while the hard stuff will be left in the capable hands of Hammer and Cavill who star as a duo of secret agents hunting down the bad guys.

Despite our disappointment that Tom Cruise pulled out of this one, we remain quite excited for this one.
