Hugh Grant and Sophia Lillis are the latest high-profile names to join the 'Dungeons and Dragons' movie.

Hugh Grant recently earned a Golden Globe nod for his role in 'The Undoing'. He also starred in Netflix parody movie 'Death to 2020.'

Sophia Lillis would be best-known for her debut as Beverly Marsh in 'It' and its sequel, with more recent credits including Amazon Prime movie 'Uncle Frank' and Netflix series 'I Am Not Okay With This.'

They join Chris Pine, 'Bridgerton' star Regé-Jean Page, Michelle Rodriguez and Justice Smith, who are also in the Dungeons and Dragons' cast.

The film is based on the hit fantasy game franchise, and was previously adapted for the big screen in a 2000 live-action movie starring Jeremy Irons.

Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley are directing the adaptation. They previously directed 'Game Night' and penned the screenplay for 'Spider-Man: Homecoming'.

Plot details are being kept under wraps, while the official movie title is also a mystery.

Hugh Grant is due to play a villain known as Forge Fletcher. Sophia Lillis' character is called Doric, with no other details known yet.

Filming is scheduled to commence in Titanic Studios in Belfast, during the first quarter of this year.

The film has a release date of May 27, 2022.
