Bryce Dallas Howard has signed on to replace Rachelle Lefevre in the third instalment of the Twilight franchise, Eclipse. The Terminator Salvation star will take over the role as the main villain in the series from Lefevre, who has reportedly pulled out because of a scheduling conflict. Now, I'm not buying that; the producers seemed to have cast unknowns in the first film because of budgetary constraints, and now obviously want to attempt to broaden their potential audience even more with star names. Dakota Fanning and Michael Sheen have already joined the franchise, while 30 Days of Night director David Slade is being linked to helming Eclipse. That'd be a brave (and wise) move - he really knows his way around a vampire movie. 'Night' was uneven, but genuinely thrilling in parts.
