After a number of actors were in the frame for the role, filming has finally started on the Steve Jobs biopic, and Michael Fassbender is playing the lead role.

The first pictures of Fassbender as Jobs have finally surfaced, alongside co-star Seth Rogen who will be playing Steve Wozniacki, and he's looking rather dapper too.

Twitter users had posted some shots online, before they were eventually removed, but this being the age of the screenshot, they were captured before they hit the recycle bin.

Fassbender wasn't the first choice for the role, as according to Mac Rumours Aaron Sorkin wasn't his biggest fan, but director Danny Boyle was confident that he was the right man for the job. Sorkin eventually came around to him too, saying "he's a great actor whose time has come."

A few people have already taken to Twitter to complain about the fact that they don't think Fassbender looks anything like Jobs (we know, the internet has angry people on it, what a shock) but, as recently elected tweeter of the year Martyn Rosney points out, they aren't all that different, really. He didn't always wear polo necks, you know.

The movie will apparently focus around three main scenes: the launch of the NeXT computer, the launch of the first iMac, and the moment when the iPod was unveiled to the world, and one of those scenes is being filmed at an auditorium in The Flint Center for the Performing Arts, Cupertino, California.

The movie will also star Jeff Daniels as former Apple CEO John Sculley, and Kate Winslet as a former Apple employee.
