If you saw (and liked) 'The Witch' in 2016, this film by the same director will be right up your street.

Robert Eggers' second feature is 'The Lighthouse', a film starring Robert Pattinson and Willem Dafoe as two lighthouse-keepers on "remote and mysterious New England island in the 1890s".

As the trailer reveals, things get pretty intense between the pair as they slip into the realm of madness. That's not helped by Eggers' decision to shoot in black and white, but it certainly makes things even more eerie - although it's hard to tell whether i falls into the 'folk horror' category that 'The Witch' did. According to Vulture's report from the film's premiere at Cannes, there are also "copious scenes of intense masturbation” (don't worry, that's not in the trailer.)

Pattinson has certainly put his 'Twilight' days behind him, and if the trailer's anything to go by, this could be one of the films of the year.

It's out on October 18th.
