The first pictures from Disney's 'Aladdin' reboot have now been unveiled thanks to Entertainment Weekly.

The publication dropped three images from the live-action reboot.

The movie provides the cover story for this month's EW issue.

Guy Ritchie, renowned for such films as 'Snatch' and 'Sherlock Holmes', is helming the new take on 'Aladdin'.

Will Smith takes on the role of the Genie, previously played by Robin Williams. Several Twitter users noted how his take on the icon recalls a certain previous role he's renowned for...

Smith told EW that he found the idea of taking over from Williams "terrifying."

However he also said that his take on the character will be "musically different" as his version of 'Friend Like Me' is incorporating hip-hop.

“I think it’ll stand out as unique even in the Disney world,” Smith said. “There hasn’t been a lot of that hip-hop flavor in Disney history.”

The first-look pictures also show Mena Massoud ('Jack Ryan') in the role of Aladdin and Naomi Scott ('Power Rangers') as Jasmine.

A new addition to the film will be 'Saturday Night Live' star Nasim Pedrad as Dalia, Jasmine’s newly created handmaiden and best friend.
