Henry Cavill isn't quite ready to let go of Superman.
In an interview for the magazine's December cover story, Cavill said: “The cape is in the closet. It’s still mine.”
Regarding rumours that Superman may appear again, in spite of characters such as The Batman, who Robert Pattinson has taken the reins of from Ben Affleck, effectively retiring, he comments: “I’m not just going to sit quietly in the dark as all this stuff is going on.
“I’ve not given up the role. There’s a lot I have to give for Superman yet. A lot of storytelling to do. A lot of real, true depths to the honesty of the character I want to get into. I want to reflect the comic books. That’s important to me. There’s a lot of justice to be done for Superman. The status is: You’ll see.”
Cavill first played Superman, aka Clark Kent, in 'Man of Steel', which he told Men's Health was “A great starting point. If I were to go back, I don’t think I’d change anything.”
He admitted 'Justice League' “didn’t work” (though calls for the Zach Snyder cut remain), and DC/Warner Bros. has hit pause on any Superman movies since.
