At some point, you really have to wonder why anyone bothers try to engage with people online when they're being so willfully stupid or contrarian.

Opinion is one thing, where you might know in your heart that a film or TV show is brilliant and everyone disagrees with you, but facts are facts. There's just no getting around it.

Enter Deborah Nadoolman Landis, the highly-celebrated costume designer of Raiders Of The Lost Ark, Michael Jackson's Thriller, The Blues Brothers, Coming to America and about a dozen or movies through the years. Incidentally, you can read our feature interview with Deborah Nadoolman-Landis' husband, John Landis, right here where he talks about the work she did on Michael Jackson's Black Or White.

She's on Facebook the other day when someone either tags her or makes reference to her in an image from Jeopardy.

The question refers to the inspiration for Indiana Jones' costume, with the answer being Charlton Heston in the 1954 classic Secret of the Incas. Wrong, folks. Some random guy on Facebook knows better.

Take a look at this screenshot posted by Deborah's son, screenwriter Max Landis.

This, folks, is what we call a self-own. The guy was corrected by the ACTUAL COSTUME DESIGNER OF THE FILM and he still kept arguing. At what point do you think, "OK, I've lost this one, better step back." You don't even have to acknowledge your mistake if you don't want to lose face, just don't dig any deeper.

We wonder why some of these people voted for Trump. Here's a good reason.
