Guy Ritchie has officially come on board to direct a third instalment in the successful Sherlock Holmes franchise, reports, er, The Sun.

Apparently film number three in the series will be filmed in Hollywood and not London - where they shot the previous two. The second flick is currently doing the international rounds and making solid coin, so talk of this sequel isn't exactly surprising. Guy Ritchie and Jude Law are both expected to return to the popular roles of Sherlock and Watson, but Ritchie might first begin work on The Man From UNCLE - which he took over from Steven Soderbergh.

The Sun isn’t exactly a reliable source at the best of times, but a third film will be happening regardless - and Ritchie did a solid job with the first couple so it'd be natural he'd come back.
