Glee creator Ryan Murphy has apparently been offered the directing gig to remake musical, Annie.
Deadline.com are reporting that Sony want the Eat, Pray, Love helmer to call the shots on the Jay-Z/Will Smith produced production, that would star the daughter of the latter, Willow Smith. The sappy, indulgent 'Love' made over $200 million at the worldwide box-office, and Glee is still the biggest show on American television - so probably smart to strike while the iron is hot.
Murphy has previously been linked to big screen versions of Wicked and The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
