Ghostbusters II didn't have a lot of things going for it.

For one, it didn't have the same spark of creativity to it that the first one had. There was also the fact that it was basically overshadowed by special effects instead of Bill Murray being the usual one-liner machine that he is.

It did, however, give us a possible clue to the end of the world. Sort of.

2015 saw a remarkable amount of end-of-the-world predictions, including a Blood Moon, a meteorite hitting Earth, aliens landing on Earth to take over parts of the US, however 2016 is off to a roaring start with people taking a leaf out of Ghostbusters II. The opening scene of the sadly-disappointing sequel sees Dr. Venkman, now a minor TV celebrity, discussing her alien abduction experience and the exact date of the Earth's destruction.

February 14th, 2016. Valentine's Day. Bummer.

Also, that lady is Chloe Webb, who starred as Nancy Spungen in the punk biopic Sid & Nancy alongside Gary Oldman. She's currently in the US version of Shameless, starring alongside William H. Macy and Joan Cusack.

So, there, you have it. Ghostbusters II predicted the end of the world for next Sunday. We'll check back this time next week and see if it happened.
